Masonh Arrived - More pics!!

Masonh Arrived!!

Mr Postman finally arrived with the USPS delivery tube last Thursday. Couldn't resist taking a peek even though I was in office!!

It is an absolute knockout. The birdseye and koa were equally sick, but both looked perfect together. Finishing was flawless, and I love how the tan phenolic joint/butt cap blend in nicely with the woods. Shafts felt great and had tight grain lines - this could be a monster player.

Tried the cue later that evening and was pleasantly surprised - and those who know me should know that I am very fussy and particular about shaft hit/stiffness/feel etc. Stiff hitting cue with a nice sweet feel even though there is no ivory. And I got used to the deflection just after one try. What was most impressive was that both shafts hit/feel/deflect similarly.

In fact, this cue hits so G.O.O.D. that I am gonna retire my Blue Grass and Haley for now.

A big thank you to those who attended SCE'09

Excitement and anticipation filled the air as the beauties were being introduced one by one. For a moment, the pool hall turned into a fashion arena with all the blinding camera flashes and ‘drooling’ men. This, as one of us correctly put it, was simply ‘cue porn’.

The first Singapore Cue Exhibition drew interests from 15 cue enthusiasts and exhibitors. More than 30 custom cues were on display, representing the work of 27 different cue makers – including Szamboti, Hercek, Haley, Schick, Scruggs, Omen, Edwin Reyes, and many more.

A very big thank you to all the participants and exhibitors. We really appreciate your presence, and hope everyone enjoyed the session as much as we did.
We will like to thank the sponsors:

- John Barton(http://www.jbcases.com) for sponsoring the UltraPad as one of the door gifts for SCE 2009. All additional thanks to John for spending his additional efforts to help to customise the leather burnisher for SCE 2009

- Royston Chow, (the distributor of the Magic Ball Rack) for providing the Magic Ball Rack as one of the door gifts.
Pictures from the exhibition will be posted soon, and we’ll let them do the talking instead. Enjoy.

Introduction to SG Cues

SG Cues was set up by 2 amateur pool players from Singapore, who share a common interest and passion in appreciating fine cues.

SG Cues aim to:
1. Bring together fellow cue enthusiasts in a close-knitted community and raise the profile of custom cues in Singapore;

2. Share knowledge and information on custom cues, cuemakers as well as other pool-related products; and

3. Share pictures of custom cues and other pool-related collectibles which are currently in Singapore and around the world.

We would be updating this page with details and photos of custom cues in Singapore. At the same time, we would also post pictures of fine cues from around the world.
Also, given the rising popularity of custom cases, we would be creating a separate section for them.

Note: Permissions for pictures to be posted on this blog have been obtained from the respective owners.
